Abu Dhabi:  The grand premiere of “The Fairy Tale,” an innovative immersive show at The BAPS Hindu Mandir, was celebrated on September 9th, marking a significant milestone in honouring the Mandir's extraordinary journey.

Since its opening, the Mandir has drawn over 1 million visitors within just the first 100 days, reflecting its global appeal and significance.

The event was attended by 250 esteemed guests, including UAE leaders, religious heads, and dignitaries. Consul General of India in Dubai, H.E. Mr. Satish Kumar Sivan, praised the Mandir’s construction as an incredible achievement and a symbol of India-UAE collaboration.

H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, commended the immersive experience for encapsulating the UAE’s core values of tolerance and harmony.

A grand inauguration

On its opening day alone, the Mandir welcomed an impressive 65,000 visitors, highlighting the high level of interest surrounding its inauguration.

This architectural marvel, known for its elaborate stone carvings and fusion of ancient design with modern eco-friendly practices, serves as a beacon of unity and harmony.

Bringing history to life

The Fairy Tale” offers an advanced immersive experience using 20 video projectors and state-of-the-art surround sound technology. Created by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, the show transports visitors through pivotal moments in the history of the BAPS Hindu Mandir.

Key scenes include HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s initial prayer in Sharjah (1997), the support from UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Presidential Palace (2018), and the Mandir’s inauguration by His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj and Prime Minister Narendra Modi (2024).

The experience vividly simulates various environments, such as quarries and stormy seas, allowing visitors to feel the intense efforts and global collaboration involved in the Mandir’s creation

Reflections from key figures

Pujya Brahmavihari Swami, Head of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, shared his thoughts on the premiere, underscoring the Mandir’s role in promoting global harmony and encouraging visitors to become ambassadors of peace.

He highlighted the importance of the ‘5 Ps’ – Policies, Places, People, Principles, and Perspectives – in shaping perceptions and fostering coexistence.

Support and accolades

Jiten Vyas, Chief Commercial Officer of VFS Global, described the show as a global marvel with a unique appeal, while Yogesh Mehta, Vice-Chairman of BAPS Hindu Mandir, lauded it as a groundbreaking production offering both spiritual and educational value.

Fatima Al Blooshi from The Louvre Abu Dhabi found the experience enlightening and insightful.

Calling Abu Dhabi an ‘Epicenter of Harmony,’ the show unfolds a new dimension to the values of tolerance and harmony, significantly adding to the Mandir’s message of global harmony, which has already generated more than 67 billion positive digital impressions. It is bridging and bringing together cultures, communities, and countries, reflecting the global appreciation for this extraordinary place of worship. 

Public opening and ticket information

“The Fairy Tale” will be open to the public starting September 13, 2024. Tickets are priced at AED 50 and can be purchased at the Utsav Events Desk at the BAPS Hindu Mandir.
